What our GCSE Biology tutoring covers
Lessons cover the biology content your child needs for their qualification, with support tailored to AQA, Pearson Edexcel and OCR specifications. We work on cell structure, microscopy, transport across membranes, enzymes, digestion, photosynthesis and respiration. Pupils can also build their understanding of infection and response, homeostasis, inheritance, variation, evolution and ecology, according to their exam board.
Support is available for separate GCSE Biology and the biology component of Combined Science. Your tutor checks the specification and tier where applicable, so lesson time stays focused on relevant content and question demands.
Required practicals are woven into learning, including variables, methods, graph skills, evaluating results and drawing conclusions from evidence. Alongside subject knowledge, pupils practise interpreting unfamiliar information, using biological terminology accurately and structuring extended answers. Past paper questions help identify gaps and show how mark schemes reward precise explanations rather than simply longer responses.
Who your tutor will be
GoodGrade tutors are Russell Group educated and 100% DBS checked. We look beyond subject knowledge to the quality of the learning experience: clear explanations, patient support and space for pupils to think through an answer without feeling rushed.
Your child's tutor adapts lessons to their starting point and goals. That might mean breaking down the stages of mitosis, helping them distinguish respiration from breathing, or asking questions that reveal why an answer is not quite right. The focus is on understanding, not memorising words without meaning.
GoodGrade has an average rating of 4.9 out of 5. You can choose a tutor match that suits your child's needs, so support feels personal from the start.

Which GCSE Biology exam boards do you cover?

Can lessons help with required practicals?
Yes. Tutors help pupils understand practical methods, identify variables, interpret graphs and evaluate evidence. Lessons support practical understanding and exam preparation but do not replace practical work required by school.
Is GCSE Biology tutoring online or in person?
Online one to one tutoring is available across the UK. In person tutoring is also available in all parts of the UK. All sessions focus on your child individually, with explanations and practice adapted to their needs.
