What our GCSE Maths tutoring covers

GCSE Maths tuition can cover number, algebra, ratio and proportion, geometry and measures, probability and statistics. Tell us the exam board, such as AQA, Pearson Edexcel or OCR, and whether your child is entered for Foundation or Higher tier so we can check a suitable match.

For students working towards a pass, sessions can revisit fractions, percentages, equations, graphs and the steps needed to answer common problems accurately. Higher tier support can develop work on topics such as quadratics, trigonometry, algebraic fractions and vectors where required by the specification.

Exam practice helps students identify what a question asks, choose a method, show working and check whether an answer is reasonable. Calculator and non-calculator skills can be practised separately. A tutor can use marked schoolwork and practice questions to identify gaps and agree manageable next steps; no particular grade is guaranteed.

Who your tutor will be

Your tutor match should suit the student's subject, level, exam board and learning needs. Review the suggested tutor profiles and ask about relevant teaching experience before choosing.

In lessons, the tutor can explain difficult ideas, work through examples and give feedback on independent practice. Tell us about the student's current challenges so the matching process can take them into account. No particular grade is guaranteed.

How it works

Start with our free tutor matching quiz. Tell us the student's year group, subjects, goals and preferred lesson format. We use those details to suggest suitable tutors; you choose the match that feels right.

Lessons are one to one and can focus on gaps in understanding, current schoolwork or exam preparation. Progress and lesson notes are tracked in the GoodGrade Hub so you can follow what has been covered and discuss the next priorities.
